the whole busy week ( part taekwondo intec)

salam.. this is actually kind of a recap during the english week few weeeeks ago.

i think, i've just passed by a week full of many things. the most busiest week in ipba, i guess. anyway lets just start with the taekwondo tournament first. still in the same week, ayte?

saturday, 28th march 2009

at around 10, gathered at surau and went to intec, with the help of our ipba's driver, pakcik khalid. at this time, the rest of my batch were having an "exciting" and "enjoyable" talk at ipbmm regarding to women's sport day.. something to do with that laa.. lucky me to get escaped from joining them there.. huhu..

just because our driver didn't know exactly where intec is located, so we waited for rabbit from ipbmm to lead the way since she's an original citizen of shah alam, unlike me.. haha..
therefore we reached intec by 11 sharp..

the first person i saw there, was the same face i see every time during my holidays at my hometown. ana, the person i met during ISK at Kuang, the person i met again at MPH, Midvalley and plus, we've known each other since, standard one.. long "time" no see eit, ana? huhu..
she's a part of the organiser for the tournament, so it's kind a lucky for me to know orang dalam..
after settled all the registration for all the participants, i, as the team manager of our team, had to wait for a brief breifing regarding tomorrow's event. the unfortunate thing was the meeting only be held at 3 pm. the're lots more time to spend. so we decided to find some stuff for tomorrow's.

me, falihin, aiman and that brat, syafik ( he's annoying) went to kompleks PKNS shah alam with the help of falihin's friend( who is actually kak ayu's friend as well). meanwhile, kak ayu and rabbit went there by bus.

first pit stop: kfc.. we were quiet starving so we decided to full our tummy first. had snack plate but due to the chicken which was not ready yet, i only got the side dish. the coleslow and the kentang putar only. after a while then the main dish came. sat along with aiman, kak ayu and rabbit. falihin, on diet so he went to jalan2 with his firend. syafik, don't ever want to know what's he up to.

then, we went to the phamacy to get the set of first aid kit and a pain relieving spray.. cost me rm 60+ since the club's fees was not enough. went back to intec and listen to the briefing. reached ipba at around 5 and i met aliaa, munirah and ruhan, escaping from the 5 km cross country( is it the accurate word for merentas desa?)

at night, had to neglect the earth hour by having the last practise for the tournament.

hari kejadian..
things went all okay.. except during the journey to intec, there was an accident occurred. i met timah zaharah, she's one of the pihak penganjur. also met berg.. he actually won without sparring in his first match, and barely won the second. but finally, managed to own a bronze. unlike this lady, waited from morning till 4 o'clock before my turn. unfotunately, exhausted of waiting made my movements looked silly and lousy. nampak sangat da penat..

in the end, bought myself a new kicking pad. it worthed RM88.90. very comfy and soft.. hopefully that will encourage me to practise more... haha..

my new kicking pad.. for sure i won't give this to my bro. or else he will loose this like what he did to the kicking pad i bought for him few years back..

this is the end of part 1.. part 2 to be continued

injured before it begins

salam..

location: DKA
time: few minutes after ldv presentation. quite a relief but not very ready to present. quite lack of of explanation.. =(

yesterday, got usual training with master ben. only 8 members came. not very much but i like it this way. sir taught us quite some new tricks of warming-up, which i think is quite unique. i've already got the equipments needed for the sparring competition. akhirnye dapat jugak main dengan kicking pads once again.

sir observed my poomsae and it was sucks at first. after a few times practicing, it become much better and i'm able to balance myself after each movements. finally~

during the evening, went to the UM's libraby in search of resources for our second social studies assignment. found a few articles and after done photostating, rushed back to ipba for sport house training. we went for lempar cakera and rejam lembing. from my view, not many are actually interested to participate. kind of sad because i don't really have friends who love sports. even thought i'm not that kind of a sports girl, in a sudden i felt i am when i'm in ipba. haish...

after finished both track and field events, got the chance for my beloved long-not-trained-so-da-pancit sport, long jump.. went for the first jump, successfully jump above the requirement limit. tried for the second, unfortunately, sprained my left ankle due to bad landing. not good for a poomsae participant like me this sunday.

so, today, i'm not going to walk like a normal human being, therefore mind my slow movements until i recovers.

the end.

instructor's training??

salam and hye..

it's been quite some time i left my blog to be hibernated.
it's a wake up call now..
and it's all about my days.. all in one.. i think i do like this multiple thingy..
huhu..

regarding to the title of today's ( 7 feb), yes, i have started my very first training. well, more or less it's just more to train myself on handling other members, especially the new ones ( white belt) to do their stances and other movements in the correct techniques.

we ( abg aiman, kak salma, alvin and i) meet up at block 4 at the early morning of this beloved saturday, 7.15 to be precise.. yup.. 7.15 during saturday, it's quite difficult for me to wake up very early.. then, we go to smk taman sea, at pj if i'm not mistaken. credits for abg aiman for driving us there. master ben is also their instructor there, so perhaps that our existence were to help him while he train other belt holders.

from what i can see, being an instructor is just like being a teacher. you come and teach the other until they understand and starts doing the correct thing. as for me myself, ( this is kind of a reflective of myself during my first time training) this just like the practicum for the final year teacher trainees.. i do think that i need to work on my voice projection, as most people at the back did not start their movements as i ordered just before that. plus, i do need to arrange my words better, my instructions were quite miserable, they don't understand me, and sometimes it makes me confuse ( and blur) too..

i'd also learned that not everybody is giving their full-commitment while training. same goes during the p&p ( pembelajaran & pengajaran thingy) in class.. there will be one or two of them, playing and being so annoying.. as for this taekwondo training, we are quite mean.. kak salma had suggested that for the next training, whoever is not being serious, will be fined with, maybe some push-ups or any other painful exercises. wahaha *evil laugh*

the training was okay, we taught them to do the kicks, stances and other movements in the correct techniques, so hopefully they will be better next time.

they were amazed and quite amused to see master ben's resume.

back to ipba already. see you guys again this tuesday~

master ben with his students.. some of them are already 2nd and 3rd level of black belt, only known as poom, age not qualified yet to be called dan.. but when they're qualified, it will be 2nd or 3rd dan already.. jelesnye~

we reached ipba at 11a.m. i got dressed quickly after cleansing myself, and headed to mid with ruhan and Q. me and ruhan watched inkheart, and we got back to ipba ( again for me) at nearly 5. woah, so damn tired laa~

that's all for now..
need to get to bed.. tomorrow wanna jalan2 some more..daa~

intec closed and invitational taekwondo tournament

salam.

well, according to the calender, it's been almost two weeks i've been officially reselected as the head of the taekwondo club. nothing had done much, though. munirah, you really can't get away with me.. hahaha *evil laugh*

from what i can tell, majority of the committee were from my batch, my cohort to be precise. tesl students conquers it once again~

few days ago, ana texted me that her college will be organising the first intec closed and invitational taekwondo championship. she was one of the organiser committee. as they wanted to send the invitation letters, they college requires the name of the president of each club they would like to send the letter to. as she knows my position in the club, she asked me whether my club wanted to join the tournament or not. i think this would be a great opportunity for them ( our club members) to expose with such events, so i agreed. a part of her problem, solved. then she asked me again, whether i knew any other presidents'. i gave the um's president's, as we had the experienced to combined both classes during our training session, as our previous cohort quit beramai2 due to exams and other things.

perhaps that by participating this event, our club won't be too passive. at least there's something we could do for our own benefits. i'd also asked ana to send me the soft copy of the invitation letter, so that i could have the idea of that sport event. it will be held on 28 and 29 march 2009. but the actual tournament will start on the 29th. 28th, only to weigh in for the sparring participants. i wish i could participate in both sparring and poomsae, but i don't think i'm fit enough to participate the sparring competition, also based on my previous experiences in sparring, my chances to win, is quite limited.

poomsae? for those who don't get the idea what it is, it is something like a demonstration competition. as a taekwondo practitioner, we need to remember a pattern of moves, in order for us to upgrade our level ( during grading). so basically this poomsae competition is the way how perform your moves, in the most correct coordination and strength. i dunno whether want to participate in this either, because i have not finish my lesson in my koryo yet.. haish, what to do eh?

i have already texted to all members to ask their opinion about this tournamnet. well, some of them were quite excited to participate in this event. and also some of them will only come and watch the tournament as their first time experience into the world of taekwondo tournaments. perhaps they would like to be our team's cheerleaders.

i guessed that by next week, i will get the actual number who wants to participate, and maybe i'll be arranging the procedures and other things that is required. wohoho.. better get my lazy arse in gear or else i'll be stuck with other things too..

leadership

salam..

do you ever think that what makes a leader, a leader?
was it because he or she was able to arrange things and handle them wisely?
or just because the status that the person has?
what actually matters when choosing the right one who is qualified enough to become one?

the crisis of this leadership thingy has bumped into my head. i was just a normal person, not very interested in leading people, especially in a big group. i would rather likely to be an obedient follower, whatever it is just not the role that needs me to control others.

however, for my problem ( not actually a problem, just a thing that i don't really like to do.. hell, yeah.. it's becoming a problem to me.. no doubt about it..) even if i owned myself a black belt in martial arts, that doesn't the only value that makes me a good leader.

even though it is a good opportunity for me as i could actually enhanced my leadership in me, however, i do need support from all, not only just supporting only from the lips( e.g "don't worry, we have your back" and yet, they've done nothing.. duh~anyone can do that), what i need is more than that.

for instance, i hate it when you're suggesting and voting me to be the leader, but once i hold the position, you just vanished, and not even seem to exist. so frustrating though.. i'm not expressing this to anybody, it's just that i'm quite stressed about it right now.

why they choose me?

why not anyone else?

there are lots more whose are more eligible and qualified than me. i'm just a nobody. darn it

=.="
