Bara yang melara

Semakin lara kita didera bara—
kita laungkan juga pesan merdeka:
Demokrasi sebenderang mentari
sehasrat hajat semurni harga diri.

Lama resah kita—demokrasi luka;
lama duka kita—demokrasi lara.
Demokrasi yang angkuh, kita cemuhi;
suara bebas yang utuh, kita idami!

Dua abad lalu Sam Adams berseru:
(di Boston dijirus teh ke laut biru):
Tak diperlu gempita sorak yang gebu,
diperlu hanya unggun api yang syahdu.

Kini menyalalah unggun sakti itu;
kini merebaklah nyala unggun itu.

-A. Samad Said-

*pelik
kerana satu adjektif
pembangkang dituduh pengacau
seniman ditangkap disoal
apalah erti satu adjektif?
kalau yang dimaksudkan tidak dapat dilaksanakan?

stand firm and steadfast

if you think
you want to change
but not sure where to start from
try from something simple
that will not burden you
make it as a routine
and when you're ready
for the next changes
go for it
but never forget
and never abandoned
the things that you've done before

that is istiqamah

On the authority of Abu 'Amr, though others call him Abu 'Amrah Sufyan bin 'Abdullah, radiyallahu anhu, who said:

I said: "O Messenger of Allah, tell me something about Islam which I could not ask anyone about save you." He answered: "Say: 'I believe in Allah', and then stand firm and steadfast."

margate project work

salam and hi!

I think it's been quite some time since my last entry written not in poetic kind of style. well, approximately, I am now counting days to go back to Malaysia for my summer holiday :)
and in the meantime, i still have classes on Mondays and Thursdays afternoon, carrying out some sort of a small project work.

we've been assigned to go and explore an UNFAMILIAR town in Kent. when we get there, we were asked to make a short video clip of that place, either you can put in interviews or just anything to represent that place and as a proof of your small exploration.

we've been to Margate, around half an hour or so from Canterbury and we went to some places (some.. due to heavy rain, we couldn't go more any further with that condition)

the most interesting part of Margate that I discovered is that I have found a REAL mosque there. for your information, it is so hard to find a mosque around Canterbury (there's only a prayer room in CCCU and a small mosque called the Markaz in the UKC) ^^

what's more interesting is that the building of the mosque was a former church (click here for more details). the facilities were superb and comfortable. I managed to meet a Malaysian who is working at Sandwich and she knew where i'm studying at (she mentioned Chirst Church College, the former name for CCCU, which is kinda cool) ^^

so let's stop blabbing and here's the pictures I've taken throughout the trip :P

inside primark, shopping while waiting for the rain to stop ^^

traditionally, this place was one of the most famous places
for the British people during their holidays

the Droit House, where merchants used to pay their toll whenever they sailed to Margate

Tudor House, one of the oldest buildings in Margate

as you can see, it's a clock tower

it feels like as if i'm in Malaysia right now, somehow...

well, that's all for now

tutup mana yang patut

pakai tudung
tapi kasihan
masih terlihat
bahagian leher
gumpalan rambut
pameran dada
tayangan kulit
baju sarung nangka
seluar ketat
pakaian jarang

itu yang kau kata menutup aurat?

biarlah labuh
tudung yang dipakai
menutup mana yang patut
agar tidak menimbul fitnah
biarlah baju dilonggar-longgarkan
dari menurunkan iman si lelaki
mendorong godaaan syaitan terlaksana

O facebook!

of likes, comments and shares
we create our own profiles
filling our pages
of what we're thinking of
we often communicate virtually
with people of different places
regardless of different timezones

BUT

have we had enough communication
with our Al-Khaliq?
liking all His words
commenting and relate the stories
of our prophets with our daily life
sharing what we know with others
talking to Him regardless
of time and place

have we ever done the same thing
as what we did through facebook?
have we ever done the same actions
when we face our Creator?

the ultimate

study
exams
results

these are the main focus
that you should concentrate on
whilst you're still a student

i wonder
when is the time
that you prayed hard the most?
is it when you're studying?
when you're sitting for your exams?
while waiting for the results to come?
even after you've received your results?

OR

you pray hard for all the times
because the ultimate goal
is not the results
but JANNAH it is

*stay focus all mujahids, we can only have our peaceful rest in JANNAH, and no other place*

(T_T)

kadang-kadang
rasa sedih
kalau dulu
amat rapat
selalu sesama
bila nak ke mana-mana
dari sesat tersalah train
ke sesat di tengah bandar
amat akrab

tapi
bila dah kat sini
semuanya berubah

normal ke?

end of time

Alhamdulillah
Alhamdulillah
Alhamdulillah
all praises to Allah The Creator

i have just finished my final exams
almost at the end of my first year..

who would have thought
we were different
i was different
you were different

and for most of the time
we were dependent to our family
each and every day
it's them we first talked to
it's them we refer to

being abroad
life's changed
we are being more independent
of deciding our own choice
creating our own space
and from that
i've been learning a lot

from zero
i'm turning into somebody
filling myself with the endless knowledge
that Allah has spread within His creation
that it depends on me
whether to grab it or not

little by little
i'm growing up for sure
but to ensure i'm growing
healthy with His words
i need to be reminded

dear friends
remind me when i forget
warn me if i overdo things
scold me if went astray

what is life if there's no guidance
and what's friendship if there's no friends
to remind each other
to care for one another

a new phase

salam and hi!

finally i'm twenty one.
a new phase i'm entering to.

at this stage,
at the age of twenty one,
people say that i can be called as an adult.
a mature adult to be precise.
i'm suppose to be mature in deciding
of what's good and what's not

my thinking should no longer only to whine
when i didn't get things the way i want it,
i should be more focus
in creating my future,
my career and life after marriage.

sometimes i wonder,
what have i done in the past
what was my contribution
to myself, my family, my friends
and most importantly
what have i contributed
to my religion?

at this range of age
a wise young boy
had conquered a whole kingdom
a talented young man
has formed his own website
and spreading da'wah
with all his credibility

but
what have i done ?
through all these years
i've just wasted my precious years
took it so lightly
where i should have grasp
lots of skills and knowledge

if i have taken it seriously, i would have been better
i would be more proactive
i would be more productive
than who i am today

i dare to declare
that i will work harder
that i will try my very best
to understand the knowledge
to be obedient
to the God that i worship
to be fair
to all those near me
and spreading the truth
while i'm still breathing
till my very last breath

insya'allah

p/s: thanks for all the wishes and gifts..
i appreciated those very very much indeed..
i'm sorry for not knowing how to respond to you guys
when you guys came and knocked my door just now....
may Allah bless all of us, insya'allah
